All of the boys (especially Caleb, I have a feeling the other two are just following his lead) have been scared all. the. time. lately. Driving me crazy! I can be pretty understanding when it's dark and they're scared to go to another room by themselves (even though we have a fairly modernized house that is blessed with electricity and they would never have to be completely in the dark), but in the middle of the day, when it's perfectly light out?! Come on! Also, just the last couple days Caleb has decided he's terrified of tornadoes. Yes, being in a tornado would be terrifying, however, when it's a beautifully sunny day in February and you're having fun playing outside in the snow, yet decide to come in because it's a little windy and you think a tornado is coming, there might be a problem... Like I said, Logan and Levi are doing some of the, "But, I'm too scared!", thing too, but it really seems like they're just picking up on that from Caleb.
No new news on the Logan loose tooth front. It's still just a little wiggly. :)
Caleb and Logan went to Kindergarten screening on Monday! They did it at Hudsonville Christian, although we haven't yet decided where they will attend school. Decisions, decisions... I don't feel grown up enough to be making choices like this - I need sometime to tell me what to do! :) They really liked "going to school", and according to Logan, he "really, really, REALLY, loved his teacher and doesn't want anybody else." The lady Caleb had is a PreK teacher, and I don't even know if the lady Logan was with is a Kindergarten teacher or not! Anyways, from what I can gather they talked about letters, numbers, shapes, and colors, had to write their names (I need to teach them middle and last names...), hopped on one foot (even backwards with eyes closed!), and were asked if they knew my phone number (oops, that's another one I need to work on). I kinda feel like this Kindergarten screening is more of a test to see what kind of a mother I am than anything! A+ that they know their letters/numbers/colors/shapes good; B- for being able to write their first name, but not knowing how to write middle and last; F for not knowing phone number...
Midweek last week our dryer died. Certainly wasn't planning on replacing another appliance, but oh well. Friday evening we ended up out at Laninga Appliance and bought a new dryer. Thanks to transporting and installing ourselves, and taking the floor model, we ended up with a decent price for what I HOPE is a good dryer.
Saturday Mike started clearing out the basement in anticipation of our upcoming project. (More on that later!) I got a bunch of stuff listed on craigslist, he brought some things over to my parent's, and we decided some stuff needs to just be pitched. Glad we're getting on this ahead of time and not cramming everything in at the end. We'll also need to have the garage cleared out, too, I'm sure that will be "fun"...NOT! At least it ends up feeling good to clean things out and get rid of extra stuff we really don't need.
Levi has been telling me the last couple of days that he's too big for smooches from me. :( He's also been testing us more. Where did my baby go??? He's ready for a big boy bed, we just haven't gotten around to it yet. He's been able to climb out of his crib for weeks now, but has been good about staying in at bedtime.
These boys do A LOT of fighting and bugging each other, so I treasure the times, like earlier this afternoon, when they're outside playing nicely and having fun together. It certainly doesn't last, but I try to soak it in when I can! Today the three of them were outside with Roxy and they were trying to get her to pull them on the sled. She was actually doing a pretty good job, I think the biggest problem was that they would try to go all at once instead of taking turns and then they're too heavy for her. :)
