I can't remember if I mentioned previously that Mike has been voted in as a deacon at our church or not. Anyways, he was. We really wrestled with the decision of whether or not he should accept the nomination at this time, but he decided to go ahead and do it, and whatever happened would be the Lord's will. We kinda thought maybe he wouldn't get it since he was the youngest guy of those being nominated and it was is first time being up for a vote... Well, I guess other people besides me can see what a good guy he is! :) He'll be "on duty" at church once a month (requires showing up early to shovel sidewalks, unlock doors, count money after offering, etc., etc., etc.....). He shadowed another guy this past week so that he would know what to do when it's his turn in a couple weeks. I was nervous because that meant I was on my own to get the kids to church! Wouldn't be so bad if we went to the later service, but we go to the 8:30am one... Plus trudging through the parking lot with the kids and their stuff can be a challenge. But, we all made it through the day! :)
One thing I keep forgetting to mention is that Caleb and Logan have this thing where they need to smell each other's suckers (lollipop's for my WV family...) in church. Once the sermon starts I give them each a sucker and then we have to go through this whole ritual where they smell each other's suckers and they want us to smell them, too. "You want to smell my sucker?" And then I get it practically shoved up my nose...
Logan had a good one the other day. I dropped some pictures off for a friend who has an older son named Logan and we chatted for a few minutes. At supper Mike was asking about it and I said something like, "Her Logan is getting married in November." A minute later Logan pipes up and says, "I'm getting buried in November??" Poor thing! Couldn't help but chuckle a little and then I explained that there's a grown-up Logan and HE'S getting MARRIED in November. :)
Levi is getting so good at pulling himself up now! He likes to stand at the train table in the living room. He's not real great at getting back down yet, but he's getting there. He's started waving with purpose, too. I love watching him learn all these things!
I've been trying a new formula for Levi and it's really helping with his spitting up! It doesn't stop it 100%, but it's drastically decreased (in frequency and in quantity). Part of me wishes I had discovered this formula sooner, but I think if we were buying this formula all along Mike would've had to get a second job to pay for it...
Levi has two top teeth very close to popping out (he's had one out on top for about a month or so).
Well, the whole Logan getting married thing sure explains why they were so interested in Dad and my wedding rings -- and talking about when they were getting married and girls and all that. I'm sure I misunderstood some of what they said due to some mumbling (couldn't have been my ears), so I'm not putting too much weight on them deciding who would be a girl at the wedding.
