camp

Well, I wouldn't say it was our most stellar camping trip.  Certainly could have been worse, but could have been better, too.  As if camping with two 18-month-olds wasn't hard enough, let's throw in a whole bunch of cold and rain.

First, we were disappointed that we weren't able to get to the campground until Saturday afternoon when we had been planning on Friday evening.  With the way the weather was last week (rain, rain, rain) Mike ended up having to work Saturday morning.  But, maybe getting there Friday night would have been too much for us anyways...

Memorial Day tradition, we went camping with my parents, my brothers and their families, and my sister-in-laws sister and her family.  Everyone has a camper except us.  At this stage in life with small children, I have no desire to do any camping whatsoever without having access to someone's camper for cooking, getting out of the rain, etc.

The first night the boys took a very long time to fall asleep, but once they did they were good for the night.  Sunday afternoon naptime went pretty well - that's when the worst of the rain went through and I guess that helped them sleep.  With the way it was coming down I would think it would be too loud in a tent, but they did fine.  They took awhile to fall asleep again that night, but then did fine.

Let's see...we took a few walks to the beach.  The first couple times it was still cold out, but today it got nice and toasty first thing in the morning.  Of course the boys loved the water.  In the campground they rode their tractors around, played with Boden's trains some, saw lots of dogs, and had fun running around in Papa and Grammy's camper when it was too wet to be outside.

Cold water!
