clean-up

Wow, this week it seems that Mom = Yucky Mess Cleaner-Upper!  Monday evening as we were walking in the door from our trip up north Caleb puked - it landed half in the door, half on the garage step.  I was very thankful it didn't happen in the car.  He was acting fine, so I didn't think much of it.

Tuesday morning he was still acting fine, ate breakfast fine, then around 10am he threw-up in the pack-n-play.  I didn't see it happen, but heard the splat and got there right away.  Poor kid, he was standing there looking like he didn't know what was going on and was very pale.  I managed to clean-up without further incident.  Didn't let Caleb eat much all day, and he seemed fine.  I had him nap in our room so it would be easier to clean up if something happened.

So yesterday, everyone seemed healthy enough.  I decided to tackle bathtime by myself.  Logistically it's just hard to handle alone, but I wasn't sure when Mike and I would be able to do it together.  We normally get them undressed at the changing table downstairs, then take them to the tub upstairs without incident.  So, I got Logan undressed, set him down, and got Caleb on the changing table.  Logan promptly peed on the floor.  After my initial "oh no" reaction I thought, "at least it's on the hard floor where it's easier to clean".  I set Caleb down (thankfully not naked yet), was reaching for something to wipe up the puddle, and Logan stepped in it and slipped, fell pretty hard, and cut his lip.  So now I've got a screaming, naked 14-month-old, sitting in a puddle, bleeding.  Sigh.  Got things cleaned up and the rest of bathtime went okay.

Boys are waking up, let's see what today brings!
